Former UMBC teammates Kyle Saunderson and Mamadou Kansaye hooked up for two straight goals to spark an impressive run that gave Christos Football Club beat La Dolce Vita, 5-1.

Christos fell behind 1-0 after allowing a penalty kick goal in the 10th minute then responded with five unanswered goals.

Jamie Merriam (West Virginia), Malcolm Harris (UMBC) and Alex Lee (Maryland) scored the other goals for Christos (3-0), which remained undefeated in the Maryland Major Soccer League. David Harris (UMBC), Jacob Bender (Messiah) and Adeyinka Olateru-Olagbegi contributed assists.

Kansaye assisted Saunderson on back-to-back goals during the onslaught. Goalie Cody Niedermeier (Broadneck, Maryland) made two saves for Christos, which will play Academy FC on Sunday (3 p.m.) at Latrobe Park’s Banner Field.
